Carnival – The holiday “everyone” likes
When I mentioned that “everyone” likes, I really mean it.
Let me see if I can get this straight.
I personally know a bunch of people that don’t like to go to parties and festivals, or even travel during this time of the year. So, the best thing to do is to stay home, watch some movies, hang out with the buddies (at home of course) and enjoy the whole extended holiday at home (or at least around it).
But I also know people that love traveling, going to the beach, parties and so forth. They’ll all going to have a blast at those places too.
And of course I’m not talking about business in general. I’m only mentioning this holiday as a leave from work.
If I refer to business, I’m pretty sure that many businessmen don’t like this holiday at all.
To be honest, I do think Brazil has many holidays, but that’s my opinion.
What do you think about it?
Are you the type of person that loves going to big Carnival festivals?
Or are you the “couch potato” type of a guy?
Let me know from you!!
Peace and take care
Sayings, proverbs and expressions
Baixe aqui a deck e comece a estudar agora!
Aqui também estão dois sites com uma enorme variedade de ditados:

Resumindo, acho que o melhor meio para você aprender as expressões que você mais usa é usando-as diariamente. Seja através do Anki, ou através do método de Repetição Espaçada (SRS). Use e abuse. Fale em voz alta. Coloque em diálogos curtos e treine bastante.
Keep up the good work!
Back to school!
The fourth day of February, Monday, my kiddo comes back to school.
He’s still a child and loves going there. He learns all kinds of stuff, from playing with other school friends and also with the teachers to sharing toys and learning how to wait for his time to do things.
The more playful and entertaining the better.
There are different categories of schools:
- Kindergarten
- Elementary school
- Middle school
- High school
- College / University
Each one of them require a different type of shopping lists. Check the following website with the convenient list for each category of school/age.

Let me know from you.
Have you got any kids at school? When do they usually come back to school? Do they like going there? What do they have to say about it?
Leave your comments below!
Take a look at this very first shoot I took yesterday.
More to come, hopefully better than this one.

Let’s watch these two videos. Then let’s get to the bottom to see what really motivates you.
Answer the following questions:
At work
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Are you a team player or a lone wolf?
- Do your strengths align with the job?
- Do they align with the company overall?
- Are you applying for a position that you’ll want to excel at or are you just there for a paycheck?
In your life
- What are you passionate about?
- What is it that gets you out of bed every day with enthusiasm?
- Where does your mind go when you’re allowed to daydream?
- Can you think of a time when you were very motivated to learn something (not language)? When was it? What kind of motivation did you have?
- Do you think one kind of motivation is better than another? If so, which one?
- Think of other language classes you have had. What activities did you do that were motivating? Make a list.
- What kind of classroom activities do you find DEmotivating (i.e. that do not motivate you). Make a list.
